Give introductions a playful starting point with the Getting to Know You Thumball®. Pass the soft ball around the group, read the prompt under your thumb, and share a little about yourself. It’s a simple activity for onboarding, classroom introductions, workshops, and team meetings.

• Suggested group size: 6–25 people. For larger groups, use multiple balls or smaller breakout groups.

How to use

1. Pass, roll, or gently toss the Thumball to someone in the group.
2. Have them read and respond to the prompt under their right thumb.
3. Continue passing the ball so others can take a turn.
4. Finish with a discussion: “What surprised you?” or “What did you learn about your colleagues?”

Facilitation ideas

• Frame responses around personal or workplace experiences.
• Choose one panel for everyone to answer.
• Collect responses to several prompts and create a group chart or graph.
• Have other players guess the prompt after hearing a response.
